The challenge

Before Atticus, Vicinity Centres verified each of their important documents by collecting source material like PDFs and spreadsheets by email and then manually tracking how annotations were changing. This was a time-consuming process that left a lot of room for human error.

Vicinity Centres was looking for a solution that would improve productivity and transparency while reducing risk and the time spent on manual tasks.

The solution

The Vicinity Centres team found it easy to get started on Atticus. The software was quickly picked up by the wider team, including subject matter experts, with minimal training required.

Troy Dahms, Senior Investor Relations Manager at Vicinity Centres shared that his favourite feature is the ability to avoid duplicate work with annotations that appear multiple times throughout a document. Once the source document is uploaded for the first time, any repeat references to that source can be applied in a few clicks.

The team also highlighted that they appreciate the ability to export all the source documents in one file at the end of the verification process. They are able to easily refer to this exported file when discussing specific numbers and statements with stakeholders.

The success

Vicinity Centres are pleased with their choice to implement Atticus throughout the company. It has provided greater confidence in the creation of corporate reports and disclosures, while significantly reducing the risk of human error and saving their staff hours on tedious tasks.

“I would highly recommend adding Atticus into your tool set for verification, it is simple to introduce, provides great transparency into source data, easily identifies how a verification document changes when a new version is uploaded, and provides more confidence around the final documents.”
